Embrace the Darkness 2 review, well on that topic, I have read some critic reviews who have commented highly on how great the gameplay is and what an intense and awesome storyline as well, well, while some gamers are not too happy with the wielder roaming about the streets with no connection or interaction with anything at all, and while some are not too happy with having to play the game in the dark because the character and player feel more comfortable in the dark and if exposed to light, have a case of blurred vision.

But with the storyline and such a great character it would be thrilling to play the game in a deep dark room, now that would be intense wouldn’t it? The storyline is amazing. We see the main character is Jackie Estacado, who, on his 21st birthday was possessed by an ancient demon entity and in turn Jackie got supernatural powers, and using his powers he became the Don of the crime mob, the Franchetti family. Even though Jackie lives a nice life as a don, there were some who wanted his powers, so we see Victor Valente, who is the head of an ancient secret society known as The Brotherhood. The secret society was founded on the grounds that they will protect the innocent from the darkness but as generations and years go by, the brotherhood became more and more corrupted and evil and now the head, Victor Valente wants to steal Jackie’s powers and use them on his own for evil purposes.

In The Darkness II, some new features have also been added. One which allows Jackie to use The Darkness and guns simultaneously called “quad wielding”. We shall discuss about the other feature as we go on. We will get to see Embrace the Darkness 2 made available for Microsoft Windows, Embrace the Darkness 2 Playstation 3, Embrace the Darkness 2 XBox 360. The sequel was supposed to be released on July 10, 2011 but was delayed to October 4,2011 and futher again postponed to February 7,2012. Written by Eisner award winner Paul Jenkins, the sequel is set to be a huge success because earlier this year in January two sets of demos were released. On the first demo we see Jackie getting tortured and crucified by a mob who wanted him to give up his powers and in the second set we witness a sudden attack made on Jackie in a restaurant which further led to a huge gun fight ending at the railway lines and Jackie getting struck by an oncoming train. The demos have received nothing but all positive responses.

What is really cool is that when Jackie uses his demon arms for finishing, the player can execute the enemy in gruesome ways and similarly The Darkling also has special powers like urinating acid on an enemy, or poking eyes out using thumbs or ripping out throats of an enemy. And this is where the other new feature comes in, because after each kill, the hearts of the enemies collected and the number of enemies urinated on adds to the “dark essence” of Jackie, which is a substance and in a process allows Jackie to “chaarge” his enemies’ heartwith energy, throw it and create a void of vacuum which gives him thew ability to see and attack through walls, a feature called “swarm” in which Jackie summons a swarm of flies to attack and stun a lot of enemies all at once, and another feature called “gun chanelling” which gives Jackie, but for a short period of time unlimited ammunition and can also take on supernatural damage all at once.

So all you fanatics out there, the game is on and The Darkness 2 will be released on February 7, 2012 in North America and February 10, 2012 in Europe and Asia. Here is me wishing the creators and Paul Jenkins a huge success and hoping to see and get maybe a new sequel in the upcoming year. Cheers!

And while The Darkling uses weaponry and supernatural powers to fight off Jackie’s enemies, as an added advantage Jackie can use his environment, like using car doors as shields and also use parking meters to kill his enemies. And this game is meant to be played in darkness and for that reason The Darkness disappears either for story purposes or while in the light. Victor Valente is after Jackie Estacado, because he wants his supernatural powers. The gamers are in for a treat because with the added features and awesome gadgets and weaponry, the spirits and evils of the underworld are called upon and resulted in gruesome fights and battles. Since Jackie can use both his firearms and The Darkness simultaneously and with the other added advantages like one called “swarm” where he can call upon a swarm of flies and attack multiple enemies in an instant or that one where he can see and attack through walls and another one called “gun chanelling” where Jackie has unlimited ammunition and deals with supernatural damage all but for a short period of time. In The Darkness 2, more emphasis is given on Darklings, with just one primary Darkling and is more useful in situations like when Jackie can use him in the same manner like in the first part as a “creeping dark” and is able to go to areas that are hard to reach and kill enemies from across distances as well. The Darkling will disappear for story purpose or when there is light. The Darkling interacts using the environment and Jackie is able to make use of them like car doors as a shield or parking meters to kill his enemies.

As we mentioned earlier that Jackie will be able to use his firearms and The Darkness simultaneously, not only that, when Jackie attacks his enemies using his demon arm and is going to finish off and execute his enemies, players will be able to execute in the most gruesome ways and similar to that The Darkling also has special moves or attacks, like ripping throats off or poking eyes out with thumb or urinating acid on enemies, and what happens is after each kill, hearts collected and enemies who had been urinated on adds to Jackie’s “dark essence”, a substance which can be used to make purchases from “talent shrines” such as “black hole” which allows Jackie to charge an enemy’s heart with energy and creating an encased darkness a void of vacuum, which gives him the ability to see and attack through walls, one called “gun chanelling” which gives Jackie unlimited ammunition and also deals with supernatural damage but only for a short period of time, another one called “swarm” which allows Jackie to call upon a swarm of flies and attack and disable multiple enemies all at once.

The Darkness II is a sequel to 2007′s The Darkness, where a player assumes the role of Jackie Estacado, who, on his 21st birthday was possessed by an ancient demonic entity and gave him supernatural powers. In the beginning of the sequel, we hear Jackie narrating his story to the player, while holding a photo of his girlfriend, Jenny Romano, who had died and how difficult it is for him to accept her death. Jackie Estacado, the current wielder of the Darkness, had used his powers and became the Don of the Franchetti family, a crime mob. Even though Jackie is living a nice life as the don, there is one person who wants the power for himself, Victor Valente, who is the head of an ancient secret society known as The Brotherhood, which was formed for the purpose of protecting the world from Darkness, thousands of years ago, but now, everything has become corrupted and Victor wants the power. Embrace The Darkness 2 – The Game is certainly going to be a huge success again as there was actually a demo released earlier this year on January 17th and January 24th simultaneously, and this time, there will be a new tactic that has been added on the game termed “quad wielding”, wherein Jackie is allowed to use both The Darkness and firearms together, simultaneously.

The game is fantastic as players call upon the forces of the underworld and gruesome fights starts as they battle demons and supernatural entities, it is certainly enticing and players will get to use amazing weaponry and the extraordinary powers of the Darness as well. Victor Valente had also captured Jackie’s Aunt Sara, and that was one of the challenges Jackie had to overcome. There have been two demos released so far, one of them depicted Jackie being tortured and crucified so he can give up his powers, while the other one shows Jackie suddenly attacked in a restaurant and in the process ends up with a huge gunfight in the railways lines and Jackie got struck by an oncoming train. Embrace The Darkness 2 – The Game reviews are not so bad either, with critics claiming it has a fabulous gameplay and an intense story to add to that while a few players had named it as their favorite game, on the other hand some have mentioned that the character just leisurely strolls around the streets and there is no interaction with any objects etc. While these are so, I am pretty sure, if you are a fanatic gamer, it would not be regretful.
